The story of the Air-Yacht sunglasses begins with Sir Berenford, a legendary explorer with an unquenchable thirst for adventure. From Old Havana to the French Riviera, Sir Berenford roamed the world always seeking new horizons. During one of his airborne journeys aboard a magnificent air yacht, he envisioned sunglasses that embodied the essence of luxury travel and adventure. Crafted from the finest materials and featuring polarized Zeiss lenses, Air-Yacht offers both style and functionality. Whether on a private yacht or in exotic locales, it provides the perfect balance of protection and sophistication.
Craftsmanship & Materials
Each Air-Yacht Desert Blue is handmade in Italy, in the Veneto eyewear district, by skilled artisans following traditional techniques. The frame is cut and shaped from signature vintage Mazzucchelli acetate, a Lombard cellulose acetate prized since 1849 for depth of color and graining. The Zeiss polarized blue lenses are mounted by hand and feature 100% UVA/UVB protection. Hinges are hand-riveted OBE components made in Germany — a small detail that distinguishes serious eyewear from mass production.
Limited Edition of 100
Berenford produces only 100 pieces of each model. Once sold out, the model is never reproduced. This is part of our philosophy: every Air-Yacht Desert Blue is a deliberate object, designed to last and to be remembered. Each pair ships in our signature blue handmade box with a vintage army-bag soft case, Argentine-style ribbons, a Zeiss-grade cleaning cloth, and a screwdriver for adjustments. Lens and initial-engraving customization available upon request.
Wearing & Care
Measurements (mm): Eye 56 · Bridge 17 · Temple 145. Clean with the included Zeiss-grade cloth and store in the army-bag case when not in use. Avoid leaving the frame in direct sun or on hot surfaces — acetate is a living material. For repairs, contact our atelier via info@berenford.ch.
